Karen's Review Of This Property:
Scarborough Fair is an attractive, historic, two-story building in a quiet residential district just a few blocks south from Camden Park and the Inner Harbor. An intimate sign hanging above the entrance juts out from its old-weathered brick façade. The front entry serves as reception, library, and a comfortable spot for guests to gather. Just beyond the entry is a pretty dining room with soft yellow walls adorned with decorative blue and white plates. The dining table, set in front of an attractive hutch, can extend to accommodate guests who appear over a leisurely time span to enjoy a breakfast repast. The dining room, which is the heart of the home, bridges what were once three separate buildings. The oldest part dates back to 1801. The Hickory Vale guestroom, which has its own street entry, has a handsome four-poster bed set before a converted fireplace, occupies what was the original footprint of the home. Steep stairs off another entry lead to two more attractive guest rooms: Roundhill, which boasts a Victorian décor and has steps down to a bathroom with Jacuzzi tub, and Sunnyslope, which is more colonial in décor and benefits from the sunlight afforded by its expanse of corner windows. Continue down the hall to three more guest rooms, two of which share a hall bathroom. This lovely inn offers a comfortable night’s sleep and also an exceptional welcome.
