Karen's Review Of This Property:
For over a quarter of a century Reynolds Tavern has occupied a prime spot on Church Circle. It is within a superb old brick building whose walls have sheltered patrons for longer than any other inn in Annapolis. It is also one of the oldest taverns in the United States. Climb the few steps up to its entry. Once you cross the threshold you will feel as if you have stepped back in time—wonderful old creaking floors, low ceilings, thick walls, and a dramatic walk-in fireplace all add to the cozy ambiance. A traditional afternoon Cream Tea is included in the price of your room. A full lunch menu is also available until the tea room transitions into a casual restaurant. When weather permits patrons can choose to dine outside off the front entry or on the extended back deck. For a refreshing drink descend to the old stone floors of the Sly Fox Pub. If you are lucky enough to secure one of the three bedrooms available in the Tavern, climb the lovely old staircase that rises from the entry. Facing each other off the landing, the spacious Washington and Jefferson Suites are decorated with period antiques set on old wood floors, have separate sitting rooms that accommodate additional guests with sofa-sleepers, and look out over Church Circle with glimpses of the State House. The Mary Reynolds Room is in a newer section built in 1906. It has a queen bed and overlooks the back terrace and courtyard.
