Swann House

Swann House, built in 1883, is located on New Hampshire Avenue just a few blocks from DuPont Circle and within easy access of many fine restaurants and museums. The inn sits diagonal to the street, providing a limited number of off-street parking places for guests, a feature of great value in this city where parking is hard to find. You enter through Swann House’s great arched front porch and find yourself in parlors with 12-foot ceilings, crown moldings, inlaid wood floors, crystal chandeliers, and elaborate fireplace mantels. At the back guests enjoy a sunroom with wet bar, a private garden, and a small pool. A couple of the bedrooms have private decks including the Regent Room, which has a king bed, fireplace, Jacuzzi, and double marble shower. The romantic Blue Sky Suite has a luxurious queen bedroom with fireplace and a charming sitting room decorated in blue toile. Il Duomo is a king-size room with cathedral ceilings, Gothic windows, a fireplace, and wet bar. The bathroom in the turret features an oversized claw-foot tub and a wonderful rain bath shower. An expanded, very satisfying Continental breakfast including the inn’s own granola is served each day. The inn is available for private parties, weddings, conferences, luncheons, dinners, and teas.
