Karen's Review Of This Property:
The Hotel Playa La Media Luna makes no pretense at being a super fancy, trendy hotel, but is a real winner for those seeking a friendly, family-run, moderately priced place to stay in Isla Mujers, just steps from its shops and restaurants. In spite of the reasonable rates, there is no compromise in quality or location. Guests enjoy a continental breakfast at the hotel; but for other meals, stroll into town (just a few blocks away) where there is a rich selection of places to eat. You reach the hotel by a private alleyway that leads to a white-sand, moon-shaped beach called Playa la Media Luna (Half Moon Beach). Once you enter the buff-colored building, you realize its excellent position: all of the guestrooms (each with a private, palapa-shaded terrace with comfy hammock) face the sea. The rooms are pleasantly furnished and offer all the amenities you really need such as modern marble bathrooms, air conditioning, comfortable mattresses, and mini-bars. Prime rooms are king-bedded suites with especially large terraces with marvelous views and Jacuzzi tubs. The hotel overlooks a pretty, free-form swimming pool that stretches to the edge of the secluded beach. There is also a small pool for children. For those who want more action than the quiet Half Moon Beach in front of the hotel, Isla Mujere’s bustling, famous North Beach is just a few minutes’ walk away.
