You will instantly fall in love with Casa Felipe Flores—a jewel that oozes old world Mexican charm. For many years, your gracious hosts, Nancy and David Orr, used this centuries-old mansion as a second home. Upon moving nearly full time to San Cristóbal de las Casas, they purchased the house next door as a personal residence and converted their original home into an outstanding bed & breakfast. This romantic inn, with white-washed exterior accented by wrought-iron sconces and thick terracotta roof, is ideally located in the historic heart of town (about a eight-minute stroll to the central plaza and three minutes to the pedestrian walkway with restaurants and shops.). From the street you enter a flower-filled courtyard, off of which is a cozy dining room where guests enjoy breakfast in front of an open fireplace, a superbly decorated living room where guests are welcome to browse through the rich selection of books, and two of the five guestrooms. Steps away is another garden courtyard where two more guestrooms are located (the fifth guestroom is one floor up, accessed by a circular wrought-iron staircase). Two of the bedrooms are quite snug. The best choice is number 3, a large, extremely attractive, twin-bedded room. However, no matter which bedroom you choose, each has a cozy wood-burning fireplace, private bath, and is tastefully decorated with colonial-style furnishings, hand-loomed fabrics, and lovingly-selected Mexican artifacts. Wireless Internet is available in the rooms and throughout the property.
