Quinta Don Jose

Quinta Don Jose is an ideal place to stay if you prefer a hotel outside of Guadalajara in Tlaquepaque—famous for its picturesque plaza and excellent shopping. Your exceptionally charming young hosts, Estela and Arturo Magaña (both born in California of Mexican parents) add the final touch of perfection. While visiting family in Tlaquepaque, Arturo realized the need for accommodations and later opened the Quinta Don Jose. Its location is perfect—just a couple of blocks from the main plaza with its rich selection of restaurants, art galleries, museums and boutiques housed in 18th-century buildings. The hotel faces directly onto the street with a simple façade that belies the oasis found within. Its meticulously-kept reception room, lounge, restaurant, and cute bar all lead to the heart of the hotel—a lush walled garden with manicured beds of flowers, a splendid swimming pool, stone fountains, and hideaways where you can laze the day away in a hammock.
