Do you ever dream of a romantic hideaway where you might be the only person on the beach of a secluded cove fringed by palm trees? Happily, you don’t need to travel to the South Pacific—just such a tropical paradise awaits you at El Tamardino. It is not surprising this hotel is so special—it is part the prestigious Yellowstone Club World (YCW), a super exclusive private club that caters to the rich and famous who expect the ultimate in beauty, luxury, privacy, and service. The hotel is secreted away from the main highway via an 11-kilometer-long cobbled lane which meanders through a dense jungle. Along the way you catch glimpses of the brilliant-green fairways of the hotel’s superb 18-hole golf course. The road ends at the reception building where you will be greeted and taken to one of the brightly-hued, thatched-roof, individual cottages that dot the property. Some are nestled in the trees, others are ocean-front. Their rustic appearance is only skin-deep: inside, each of the bungalows provides the ultimate in luxury with the finest amenities, and is beautifully decorated in a casually elegant style. To top it off, each has its own tiny plunge pool plus a lazy hammock for dreaming.
