When wealthy sports fishermen discovered Cabo, the One & Only Palmilla was the first luxury hotel built, and remains as the grand dame of them all, exuding a quiet, old-world elegance. After an extraordinary renovation, the Palmilla reopened with 57 new rooms, including two superb beachfront villas, a second swimming pool geared for families, a swimming beach, and a gorgeous spa. The hotel is currently going through more renovations. Surrounded by manicured grounds, the low-rise building has a Spanish feel with its white façade, red-tiled roof, watchtower, arches, and dramatic stone fountain at the entrance. The hotel sits on a gentle rise overlooking the sea, a setting enhanced by splendid gardens. Comfortable lounge chairs are strategically positioned on the lush green lawn dotted by tall, swaying palms where you can relax in utter tranquility overlooking the surging sea. A path winds down to the beach, which has secluded nooks for sunbathing cleverly tucked in amongst the boulders. The luxurious guestrooms offer the ultimate in good taste. The suites with large terraces overlooking the coast are especially outstanding. Golfers will enjoy the Jack Nicklaus golf course next door.
