Hotel Dahm

This lovely inn is located in the next village over from Ettelbruck, where the Patton museum is, and also very close to Diekirch. It is in a lovely setting, you can see a river flowing through the fields behind it, and the village itself is very charming. The hotel is beautifully decorated, with marble flooring, flowers, plants and an atrium. There is a private garage for guests to park in, and with direct access to the guest room wing, which made unloading and loading our car very easy as it was raining much of the time. Though our visit was in January, we could see that the grounds would be lovely in the warmer months. We could see a gazebo, patio with tables, some walking paths, and a small pond on the grounds. It is a family run hotel and you can see that they take great pride in all they do. We were very impressed by the friendliness of the staff and their competence in meeting our needs. Communication was not a problem. We had a Deluxe room, which was very spacious, and located down a quiet hallway. The beds were comfortable, and the bathroom quite large by European standards, the price was very reasonable at 100 Euro a night. Our room had a small balcony with a table and chairs that would have made an enjoyable spot to relax and just watch the scenery, had it been a warmer season. The best thing about the inn though is their restaurant. The food was absolutely fabulous, and obviously popular with the locals as many came in to dine. On weekdays there is a fine dining restaurant and a more casual dining room with a la carte items. On weekends, only the find dining room is open, but you may order from either menu. Breakfast was also very good, and is included in the price of the room. It included fresh fruits, pastries,croissants, coffee, tea, juices, yogurts, sliced ham and cheese. You could boil yourself an egg is you wished. We would definitely come again, and wished we had more than one night to spend in the area.
