When thinking of Italy the rustic image of a wine yard or a small medieval hilltop village are the first to come to mind, accompanied of course by the delight of some of the world’s best wine and most delicious foods. La Locanda del Prete is located, and a part of just one of these picturesque villages. This wonderful little hotel of eleven apartments (fully equipped with kitchens) is the result of a several yearlong restoration of a large part of the Saragano village. The beauty is that the owners have taken all efforts necessary to retain the medieval charm and countryside comfort of this blissful little village. The Locanda, which beside the beautifully furnished apartments has a Wine Bar, a Cigar Club, and an absolutely outstanding restaurant offers everything for a soothing and relaxed holiday. However, the hotel does organize trips around the area such as golf and art weekends. Us being more than devoted to the culinary pleasures we more than enjoyed a three day venture into the world of handmade pasta, pastoral lunches with fresh truffles and visits to enchanting wine cellars. After such a day it was wonderful to relax on the hotel terrace with some local wine or take a swim in the swimming pool which, lying like a sapphire amidst olive groves, is looking out over the soft curves of the Umbrian hillside

I am glad to have found this place so that I can share with you a wonderful experience I had with my wife last summer. It was our first trip in a long time and I assure you I have never come back home feeling so relaxed and content as we did. We had found this little Hotel/Country House as the owners call it with all the commodities a modern traveler could expect and want for.
