Hotel Torre di Cala Piccola

Standing proudly on the cliffs overlooking Tuscany’s most spectacular coastlines, Argentario, are the remains of a 13th-century Spanish watchtower. The tower has been cleverly incorporated into, and stands as the dramatic symbol for, the Hotel Torre di Cala Piccola, sharing a bay property with luxurious private villas discreetly hidden behind high walls.  The first part of the hotel you see (which houses the luminous white reception area, lounge, and bar) is a sienna-toned building with red-tiled roof and green shutters, snuggled among silvery olive trees and flowering oleanders. Moderately sized, newly decorated guestrooms and suites are dispersed among the romantic stone cottages with terraces which spill down the hillside overlooking the sea far below.  High cliffs drop precipitously down to the sea, forming a series of coves where the deep blue water of the Mediterranean dances in the sunlight. Also capturing this absolutely stunning vista are a lush lawn where dinner or sunset aperitifs are served and, on a lower terrace facing the island of Giglio, an infinity swimming pool, which seems to almost float high above the sea.  A wellness area is also available for massages or spa treatments. The hotel’s shuttle accompanies guests down to the cove with snack bar for a day at the sea.  Attentive staff at a very special retreat.
