Karen's Review Of This Property:

Il Borghetto Country Inn is an absolute dream, an idyllic hideaway in one of the most enchanting areas of Tuscany. It is owned by the Cavallini family who originally bought a farmhouse in the heart of the exquisite Chianti district to use as a family weekend retreat. When the adjacent farmhouse came on the market, they bought it too, restored it to perfection, and opened a tiny hotel. What makes this small inn so special is that it is a family operation. The father, Roberto Cavallini, watches over the operation from Milan, his son, Antonio, is the on-site manager, and the charming daughter, Ilaria, ably helps out. Guests have their own intimate, beautifully decorated lounge, which also serves as the breakfast room (in warm weather breakfast is served outside on the lovely terrace). Rosie Cavallini did all the decorating and every detail is of superb quality with beautiful fabrics, original paintings, abundant displays of fresh flowers, Oriental carpets, and fine antiques. But the best I’ve saved for last—a sweeping vista of olive groves and vineyards that produce extra virgin olive oil, Chianti Classico and Merlot wine. Tours and wine tasting in the cellar are available, as well as on-site cooking courses which include food and art tours in Florence, Siena and the surrounding countryside.

My husband and I have just returned from our vacation in Tuscany celebrating our 25th anniversary, and we could not have found a more perfect place to stay than Il Borghetto Country Inn! Our accommodations were absolutely charming, from our lovely spacious suite to the gorgeous property surrounded by vineyards and olive trees. We were made to feel as welcome as family....maybe more so! I just can’t think of enough superlatives to adequately describe this lovely inn! It was everything we had hoped for and more!

Ah, where do I begin? Il Borghetto is an incredibly beautiful country inn, located just this side of heaven. It typifies Tuscan living, with warm and inviting interior colors, extremely comfortable and clean accommodations, and views that are unparalled. The grounds are rich with foliage native to Tuscany, and the pool is nestled into the landscape perfectly, so as not to appear like a ’resort’. The staff we met, Cristina, Paola, and Carmella, were like long lost family members, warm and delightful and so excited to have us. The breakfast was a perfect way to start the day, with offerings that were all homemade in the Inn’s charming country kitchen. I still find myself dreaming about those mornings, wishing I could start everyday the same way. The beautiful presentation of the delicious assortment of items, placed in a most incredible and serene setting, made for a truly perfect experience! I want to go back. Right now!!
