Once a 19th century hunting lodge, the charming Villa Marta property with manicured Renaissance garden and magical mountain backdrop (beyond it is Pisa) is just 10 minutes south of Lucca. Two prim houses sit side by side and contain the 15 attractive guestrooms of varying size and décor lending the sense of a private home.  High beamed ceiling rooms are given a fresh, luminous and romantic air by the carefully selected array of country fabrics and furnishings with matching soft-colored bathrooms. Energetic and congenial hosts Andrea and Alessia have put their heart and soul into making guests feel part of the ambience and actively participate in organizing and coordinating a fascinating list itineraries and activities in-house and out. A generous breakfast buffet table filled with homemade baked goods, Alessia’s special talent, awaits guests each morning either out in the garden or in the intimate dining room in the main villa. The warm salmon toned restaurant, Botton d’Oro, specializes in authentic Tuscan cuisine using top quality local ingredients including the property’s own olive oil. A light lunch or glass of chilled white wine at sunset can be served at the edge of the inviting swimming pool set among the olive, potted lemon and cypress trees. Truly tranquil.
