Villa Berghofer

The Villa Berghofer is a recently restyled chalet hotel at the foot of the Dolomite mountains, and close to the Bletterbach Canyon, 40 km from Bolzano.  Its secluded location near the wooded village of Redagno, but in the vicinity of the autostrada leading south to Verona or north to the Dolomites and Austria, makes it  perfect for a relaxing stopover.  The architect owner obviously had space and light in mind when designing the 14 spacious suites overlooking the serene valley backed by distant mountains.  Every window takes in this spectacular view and many suites have both open and enclosed balconies on which to sit and take in views, according to the season.  These comfortable interiors, appointed with a refined mix of traditional local antiques and newer pieces, along with the personalized service, distinguish the hotel greatly from the more identical decor one tends to find in the region.  The particular choice of pinewood (arolla) used in the paneling throughout the rooms was chosen for its profume and properties which are said to lower the heart rate and enhance sleep.  Hostess Renate, in fact, takes meticulous care of details and guest’s comfort in this discreet and quiet ambiance.  Several cozy sitting rooms on the first floor wrap around the main hall with bar and restaurant overlooking the valley, decked swimming pool and distant pond where a massage and sauna cottage is privately placed.  To top off your already pleasant stay is a wellness center, and cuisine using fresh products from their own garden and local producers.
