Villa Rosa Bed and Breakfast

We had stayed three nights at Villa Rosa on the slopes of Etna. The town is fine, but the real positive experience was staying with Alberto and his family in Villa Rosa. The room was spacious and very clean. We had a big roof top terrasse with a view of the Etna summit. Alberto was very helpful and we had good discussions and insights regarding Sicily, Italy, the area etc. over breakfast. We got invaluable tips both for the immediate area, but also for the locations we visited later on during our trip. Don't miss walking tours at the south and north ascent - we didn't take the trip all the way to the top area (we heard that the vulcano activity meant that you couldn't get to the top). We especially enjoyed the Alcantara Gorge. Took a guided walk up the river. Observe that Alberto has a very good web-site that describes the nearby sights.
