Green Manors

We first discovered Green Manors during a visit to Sicily about five years ago and, such was the impression it made on us, we have returned two or three times every year since. We have traveled extensively in Sicily and stayed at various hotels and different accommodation however, if you are looking for the authentic Sicilian experience with the best of local food and wine, coupled with the personal service and intimacy of a small boutique hotel, then you will not find anywhere better than Green Manors. The food is simply superb. It is genuine Sicilian cuisine at its very best made from either home grown or locally sourced ingredients. It is accompanied by carefully selected Sicilian wines from their extensive cellar and cooked and presented by Cristina ( a brilliant chef) who is absolutely passionate about food. The homemade jams at breakfast from fruit grown at Green Manors are a particular delight. Green Manors itself is an oasis of calm and tranquility in a green and lush setting, planted by the owners to create a tropical environment in terms of the splendid variety and colour of the plants and vegetation in which the hotel sits. Each room is well appointed and imaginatively decorated with its own particular theme, and the structure and decoration of the hotel itself have been sympathetically chosen to illustrate a Sicilian Manor House at its best. Outside there is a beautiful swimming pool in which to relax after a day of sightseeing and is especially enchanting in the evening for a quiet poolside drink. The hotel is within relatively easy reach of beaches, historical sites and unspoiled hill villages if that is your wish (the local town of Castroreale is a delight), and farther afield Etna and its vineyards or a trip to the Aeolian Islands would form a day-trip to remember. The ferry to the Islands is only 20 minutes from the hotel. All this is complemented by the hosts themselves. the friendliness and genuine warmth of the hospitality shown by the owners Cristina, Pierangela and Paolo could not be bettered. We have always felt that Green Manors is a home from home from our very first visit and nothing is too much trouble for them. If you want to experience the best of Sicilian food, wine and hospitality and revive your spirits in a serene environment then you will not find anywhere better than Green Manors in which to do this.
