Castello di San Marco Charming Hotel & Spa

I first came across Castello di San Marco when looking for a perfect honeymoon destination for my husband and I in Sicily. I couldn’t have found a better place. It is a stunning baroque castle right next to the beach, with a view of the breathtaking Mount Etna behind. Upon arrival, we were greeted by extremely friendly reception staff who gave us an extended tour of all the grounds and services the castle had to offer when they showed us to our room. We booked a suite deluxe which was situated in the ancient outbuildings of the castle. Words can’t even describe how beautiful it was – they pay a great attention to detail in this hotel. The news that it was our honeymoon was given to all the staff and when we went for an aperitif in the evening, the bar staff congratulated us and offered us a complimentary glass of champagne. The food in the restaurant is probably some of the best food I have ever eaten in my life. My husband ordered to bavette pasta and it was clear to see the high quality of ingredients used as well as an outstanding chef. For the first time, we felt like the staff were genuinely very friendly and wanted to make sure our stay was perfect in every way. The pool area is so peaceful and relaxing, with a bar grill and light lunch offered. We believe the hotel was full when we stayed as in the morning the breakfast room was full, but the hotel grounds are so large that it felt like it was ours. My husband and I have been married for 4 years now, and have been to celebrate our wedding anniversary in Castello San Marco every year ever since, and it just seems to get better and better. I fully recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to relax, be pampered and enjoy great food and wine. I have looked many times on the Karen Brown website and feel that Castello di San Marco fits perfectly within its philosophy. This hotel really deserves a mention on the website so the charm and magic of this little jem can be shared with more people.
