Hotel Villa Giulia

The Hotel Villa Giulia is an outstanding small hotel just on the edge of the quaint, colorful, medieval village of Gargnano. It has a prime location: not only lakefront, but also surrounded by large, park-like grounds. The main house, reminiscent of a quaint Victorian villa, sits center stage with a tree-studded lawn stretching down to a terrace overlooking the lake. In the garden is a wonderful swimming pool tucked in under the frame that in days gone by was used to protect the precious lemon trees that are so famous in this part of Italy. Some of the guestrooms are located in the main villa, others in two separate renovated buildings on the property, but they all share the facilities in the main house. Here you find a parlor with an old-fashioned appeal and a spacious dining room with super views of the lake. The guestrooms in this original villa are my favorites, especially rooms such as 7 or 17, which have stunning views. In addition to its attractive rooms, great Italian cooking, and outstanding location, the Hotel Villa Giulia has another ingredient that makes it even more special—it is run by your sweet and charming hostess Barbara, who took over the management of the hotel a few years ago from her aunt. The hotel has been lovingly redecorated and is a wonderful choice for accommodations along the ever-so-romantic Lake Garda.
