L’Albereta

To the west of famous Lake Garda lies the smaller, lesser known Lake Iseo. Here, tucked into the gentle Franciacorta hills, you find L’Albereta, a deluxe property with intimacy and tranquility at its heart. The owner, Carmen Moretti de Rosa, has collaborated with Henri Chenot and his wife, Dominique, to create the hotel’s spa, Espace Vitalité, offering several well-being programs. You feel a happy ambiance as soon as you enter the sunny reception area with light streaming in through walls of glass. To the right is a charming, intimate sitting area with comfortable chairs set off by checkerboard-pattern walls. The foyer steps lead down to a swimming pool with windows that slide open to the pretty garden. Carmen decorated the bedrooms and each has its own personality with subdued elegance and excellent taste throughout. The walls in the bedrooms and hallways are whimsically painted with individual designs that tie in with the color and decor. The most dramatic rooms are the suites in the tower, one of which was occupied by the actress Sophia Loren. The hotel’s fine restaurant features the famous cuisine of Gualtiero Marchesi and the dining room is serenely furnished in muted tones of green with a wall of windows that look out over the wooded hills, capturing a splendid view of Lake Iseo in the distance.
