Hotel Fontanella Borghese

The many travelers who have enjoyed staying at the Due Torri can also experience the same charismatic hospitality offered by Cinzia in her other hotel very close by. The hotel has the same name as the triangular-shaped piazza where it is located, directly in front of the imposing Palazzo Borghese leading to the Spanish Steps. The enormous doors of the 17th-century building open up to a courtyard where you take the elevator up to the second floor. The lobby has a charming drawing room and a sitting corner and a sweeping spiral staircase up to additional rooms on the next floor. Guestrooms have sparkling new bathrooms and modern amenities and are appointed with either an antique desk or armoire, green or blue matching bedspreads and draperies, and prints of Rome. An effort was made to preserve the original gray-marble floors in some rooms, while parquet flooring was put in the others. Most have a view on a narrow and very characteristic cobblestone street, or on the inner courtyard, offering rare silence. Elegant describes the breakfast room with its green and burgundy marble floors and matching faux-marble doorways. Cinzia oversees every detail in both hotels and the secret to her success is that she obviously has guests’ comfort foremost in mind.
