La Sabbiona:
La Sabbiona is a simple, but comfortable, family-run bed and breakfast. The Altini family is warm and gracious and truly strives to please their guests. I enjoyed my first stay so much, that I returned to stay there with my husband during our honeymoon. It is most convenient to have rented a car when visiting La Sabbiona as it is located amidst the hills about 7 kilometers outside of Faenza, a quaint town that was everything I imagined an Italian country town to be, complete with outdoor markets and wonderful trattorias. The views from La Sabbiona are exquisite and the area surrounding it is criss-crossed with beautiful vineyards. There is a very small community about a mile up the hill with an ancient watch tower. When I returned in the afternoons I was able to wander freely through the vineyards and fruit fields. They serve a marvelous dinner with seasonal foods and homemade pastas. I felt nothing but peace and contentment during my stay at La Sabbiona. I highly recommend it for a country vacation.
