It is difficult to imagine an alternative to staying on the spectacular Amalfi coast, but all doubts were washed away as we approached the charming Oasi Olimpia Relaisi. Whether it be the bend-over-backwards hospitality or the incredible views one has from the terraces of the prim white villa, the place is exceptional in all aspects. The whole staff, along with owner Salvatore, discreetly make sure guests have all they need and much more. Eleven spacious and elegant bedrooms—most are junior suites with balconies or terraces—have five-star amenities. The place breathes pure romance whether you are dining candlelight in the excellent restaurant with white tablecloths and fresh flowers, or under the wisteria-laden pergola among ancient olive trees. The chef prepares delectable local dishes with a personal flair, and also runs the cooking school in a separate wing built off the main kitchen. A shuttle takes guests to Sorrento or to the beach. After a day of touring, the swimming pool set under towering umbrella pines awaits you, and there you can sip an aperitif while watching the sunset.

Directions: From Naples, follow the coastal road towards Sorrento. Before reaching Sorrento, turn left at Meta and follow up over the mountain to other side of the gulf and turn right towards Sant' Agata through town up to the Oasi. Avoid arrival on Friday or Saturday evenings when traffic is at a standstill.
