Hotel Santa Caterina

The hotel and setting are gorgeous. The rooms have been considerably modernized which made them less charming for me. Our group found a huge variation in rooms. We enjoyed watching fireworks from our balcony. The walk into town was a bit too long and dangerous with the fast traffic on narrow roads.

We enjoyed watching fireworks from our balcony. The walk into town was a bit too long and dangerous with the fast traffic on narrow roads.

All of our group was upset about the seating by the ocean and pool. We arrived tired in the afternoon, and the pool boys wouldn’t even let us sit on empty lounges because guests had tipped them in the morning and they considered them reserved for the day. Perhaps would have been fine the next day, but it was very aggravating considering that most of the seats were empty. They finally relented after 5 pm. I know this is a regional thing, but at that price I want to have a place to lie down after I swim. They need to consider the oceanside needs of all of there guests. T his may not be official policy, but it happened to all of us.
