Hotel Marina Riviera

In Amalfi, we highly recommend the luxurious Hotel Santa Caterina. However, if you are looking for a more modestly priced place to stay, the Hotel Marina Riviera is an excellent, alternate choice. Although a simpler hotel, it also offers exceptional warmth of hospitality and a high level of comfort. This is not surprising when you know that Giusi Gargano is also part owner (along with her sister) of the Hotel Santa Caterina. The Hotel Marina Riviera, an old noble villa that has been in the Gargano family for many years, has been tastefully renovated and walls opened to create spacious, bright, and airy rooms. An elevator, or a staircase, leads up one floor from the street to the lounge that opens onto a terrace with a splendid view of the harbor and the colorful town of Amalfi, an easy walk from the hotel. The bedrooms are all pleasantly decorated in color-coordinated fabrics and have modern bathrooms, some with Jacuzzi tubs. All of the bedrooms look out to the harbor; the more expensive ones are larger and have the best views. A bountiful buffet breakfast is served each morning. There is no restaurant, but this is not a problem since on the street level just below the hotel, there is an excellent place to dine, the Ristorante Eolo, owned by the Garganos’ talented daughter. The hotel has a unique rooftop sun deck and a sparkling pool for guests to enjoy. The hotel has an arrangement with a garage in town.
