We stayed at the Ketschauer Hof hotel shortly after its opening and found it to be a most enjoyable and relaxing experience. We were given a warm and personal welcome and treated to a welcome drink in the exquisite lounge which is located in the lovingly restored dining room of the old manor house. Our luxurious room (jacuzzi bath included) was elegant yet modern and equipped with all mod cons such as an iPod station and wireless LAN. The architecture of the whole building combines the charm of the old with contemporary design. Breakfast was delicious and served in the vaulted cellar of the hotel. There is also an exclusive spa area which we didn’t make use of but it certainly looked very inviting. The Bassermann Jordan wine estate is right next door, so a stay at the hotel can be easily combined with a wine-tasting session. On request you can even book a tour of the extensive wine cellars. The hotel is adjoined by the Ketschauer Hof gourmet restaurant and an equally appealing yet less expensive Weinbistro where we had dinner – to be recommended. A cookery school has also recently been opened on the premises. The area has a lot to offer fresh air enthusiasts in the way of hiking, mountain biking and golf and the hotel provides you with a peaceful oasis to come back to after your day’s activities.
