Schlosshotel Lisl & Jaegerhaus

The Schlosshotel Lisl and the Jaegerhaus are conveniently located at the base of the road that climbs to Neuschwanstein in the shadow of Hohenschwangau. Many of the rooms give you unobstructed views up to one or both of the castles and it is especially nice when you can open your windows to see them dramatically lit against a night sky long after the crowds of day visitors have departed. The three-star Schlosshotel Lisl dates back over one hundred years to when it was a guesthouse for the castle workers. Guestrooms here are functional in their decor and enjoy modern bathrooms. Be sure to ask for room 10 or 20, larger corner rooms (not priced at a premium) with windows boasting incredible views of both castles. The breakfast room, an à-la-carte restaurant, cozy stube, and terrace bar are all located in the Schlosshotel Lisl. The four-star Jaegerhaus just across the street offers twelve luxurious rooms and junior suites with modern, spacious bathrooms. The large corner rooms 42, 52, and 62 are exceptional in terms of space and castle views and again, are not priced at a premium. Third-floor rooms are tucked under the eaves. The buildings are elegant but do show a bit of wear, having accommodated large numbers of guests.
