Les Hospitaliers

A reader wrote to tell us that we absolutely must include Les Hospitaliers in our book. He was absolutely right—Les Hospitaliers is a gem, set in one of France’s romantic, picture-perfect little villages nestled in the hills of northern Provence. Although this charming hotel is of fairly new construction, you would never know it because the old and new are blended so harmoniously. Simple furnishings provide a homey, comfortable, uncontrived ambiance. While the rooms are extremely attractive, at Les Hospitaliers the view is king—rightly so, because the setting is breathtaking—and all rooms are positioned to take advantage of the scenery. The most stunning vista is from the terrace, which stretches to the old walls of the village. From this perch there is almost a 360-degree view of the valley bound by wooded green hills. On a lower terrace sits a large swimming pool lined with mosaics and decked with old Roman stones. When the weather is mild, most guests dine outside, while on chilly days, meals are served in a handsome dining room with stone walls, beamed ceiling, and casement windows. Wherever you dine, the food is delicious, with plenty of produce from the garden and wines from the huge wine cellar.
