Karen's Review Of This Property:
Le Relais du Louvre

Tucked on a small side street practically in the shadow of the Louvre and close enough to enjoy the sounds of the church, Saint-Germain-l’Auxerrois, the Relais du Louvre is a lovely hotel, reasonably priced for its location and comfort. Set under old beams, rooms are pretty with their pastel-washed walls and floral fabrics. Guestrooms that open on to the central courtyard enjoy the quiet and those that overlook streets enjoy views out over the Louvre at the front or Nôtre Dame at the back. Guestrooms vary dramatically and so there is quite an offering in terms of selection. From the top penthouse suite with its spacious bedroom, full bath, large dining room with fireplace, kitchenette and private balcony, to room number two on the ground floor that opens on the central patio—each room has its own individuality and defining space. A personal favorite is one of just two rooms sharing the fifth floor, number 52, termed a Junior Suite that enjoys two sets of windows and views of Saint Chapelle. Since, with the exception of the lovely entry-salon (they have a computer with internet access set up for guest use), public areas are minimal, breakfast is served to the privacy of the guestroom. Bread delivery dictates how early one can request it but there is no restriction as to how late or lazy one wants to be. This is a lovely little hotel whose staff offers a warm and gracious reception and who strive to offer an exceptional level of service.

Terrific little hotel situated directly across the street from the Louvre, around the corner from the Seine. Very small lobby and tiny lift, but the warm & welcoming staff, the tremendous location and the terrific family-sized room (room 51) all combine to make this spot a winner. Not cheap, but as Paris hotel values go, we will come back, and w/o hesitation. Great petit dejeuner, too!
