Manoir de Vaumadeuc

Karen's Review Of This Property:
Even O’Neill gave up a high-powered career to purchase his aunt’s 15th-century manor-house hotel. His deep love for his home shows in every aspect of his solicitous management. All the rooms have been renovated and redecorated under Even’s direction, ushering in a new era of freshness and elegant style to the ancient medieval surroundings. In spite of the thick stone walls and huge walk-in fireplaces, the feeling throughout is light, airy, and very comfortable. Under the eaves are several lovely bedrooms with modern bathrooms. Pleasing floral fabrics, paintings, and antiques lend a luxurious, yet personalized atmosphere. We particularly liked our large paneled bedroom but, for a deluxe room, found the bathroom rather small due to the physical limitations of a renovated 15th-century manor. The two cottage-style bedrooms in the carriage house are smaller and cozier than those in the manor and perfect for families. The library with its tall bookcases is a delightful, elegant room. The restaurant is available by special arrangement for groups of ten or more. Carol assists Even with the hotel but is also occupied raising their four sons.
