La Maison des Têtes

Housed in one of Colmar’s most historic buildings at the heart of the pedestrian district is La Maison des Têtes, its intricate façade ornamented with a multitude of heads (têtes). To reach the reception, pass under the archway and through a quiet cobbled courtyard. The hotel has 21 guestrooms, including a spacious apartment. Two very special rooms (104 and 204) overlook the Rue des Têtes and enjoy spectacular sitting areas enclosed by the two gorgeous mullioned bay windows. All the rooms, even those described as small, are lovely, extremely comfortable, and very attractive in their traditional decor. Most overlook the central courtyard and enjoy a magical silence at the heart of a bustling city. This lovely hotel is rich in woods, from the gorgeous, ornately carved wooden exterior to the beams and paneling of the interior. The restaurant is beautiful—large, but with tables set intimately on various levels against a backdrop of rich paneling and handsome mullioned windows. Breakfast is served in a lovely breakfast room, on the central terrace, or in your bedroom. This is an intimate-sized hotel whose owners are personally involved. Marc, a chef, also oversees the kitchen. He is not new to the business—his family had a large hotel in the north of Alsace.
