Karen's Review Of
The Malt House:
The Malt House:
Gently rolling hills with sheep grazing peacefully and shaded valleys with meandering streams surround the picturesque village of Broad Campden. The Malt House hugs the quiet main street and opens up to the most beautiful, secluded gardens at the rear. Years ago, barley was made into malt here for brewing beer. Now this most picturesque country house provides a perfect central location for exploring other Cotswold villages. Make yourself at home in the peaceful sitting room or relax by the massive inglenook fireplace in the lounge whose door opens to the gardens. Four lovely bedrooms are found in the house, each beautifully decorated and accompanied by top-of-the-line bathrooms, several of which have separate showers. I find Room 3, with its grand four-poster bed resplendent in blue toile de joie, especially appealing, though my favorite was Room 2, a king/twin decked out in soft shades of lime green and lilac. For complete privacy opt for a room in the adjacent stable block where an inviting ground floor suite and two additional bedrooms are to be found. Judi’s garden is a real beauty. Garden lovers will also enjoy Kiftsgate, Hidcote Manor, and Batsford There are lots of lovely Cotswold villages to explore nearby.

What a special inn! We very much enjoyed our stay. Our room was lovely and overlooked the gorgeous garden. The breakfast was very good and for dinner, there are a number of excellent gastro-pubs in the area. The location is fabulous--right in the heart of the Cotswolds in a tiny village with a nice pub. I highly recommend the Malt House and can’t wait to return.
