Altstadthotel Konvice

The Hotel Konvice is not a luxurious hotel, but offers excellent value, friendly welcome, and a good restaurant. Plus, its location is marvelous (just off the main square of the storybook perfect village of Cesky Krumlov). You enter into a reception area that opens to the restaurant with a fresh, pretty, contemporary flair. From the restaurant, a staircase leads down to an outdoor terrace with a view across the river to the castle. Here tables and chairs are set under umbrellas—a favorite place to dine when the weather is warm. Like all the buildings in the village, this is a very old house, so it is not surprising that the guestrooms are tucked on different levels, connected by series of stairways. The accommodations are pleasant with a homey, old-fashioned look. Room 7 is a large bright room with two casement windows overlooking the street, a handsome herringbone hardwood floor, an antique armoire, and steps leading up a good-sized bathroom. Room 6 is especially nice: this too is a spacious room with the added advantage of being quieter (since it faces the back) and also has a pretty view. The hotel is located in the pedestrian-only zone, but you can drive up to the door to unload your luggage before leaving your car in the public parking lot, about a 10-minute walk away. The Hotel Konvice is owned by the Müllerová family, who also owns a castle hotel in the countryside one hour north of Cesky Krumlov.

Located in the centre of the historic old town of Cesky Krumlov, you will find the well-known traditional restaurant and hotel "Zur Kanne". Eleven rooms with all the comforts, some with a wonderful view of Castle Krumau and the city tower, allow you to experience the city from its most beautiful side.
