Villa Dubrovnik

From the road you would never know there was a hotel here, just an elevator set into a modern structure. It whisks you down the hillside to a walkway that leads you to reception and vistas of the bay with the walls of Dubrovnik in the distance. Another glass elevator took us down to our room. The view of the sea and the nearby headland was magnificent not only from our bedroom and balcony but also from our bathroom. Everything is very modern with lots of dark wood, chrome and glass with mood lighting. The airy rooftop bar is the place to watch the sun set over Dubrovnik’s old walls. Breakfast is taken on the ground floor under shady, old pine trees with a choice of outside or inside tables. The rugged coast around the hotel has been leveled out with individual platforms and provided with sun beds and parasols and the sea is crystal clear. A small indoor swimming pool seems disappointing but I suppose it works well for guest off season. There’s lots of opportunity for spa treatments and massages. Enjoy dinner in the sophisticated restaurant or order room service. 
Villa Dubrovnik lies to the south of the old walled town, a 10-minute walk along a narrow, walled street. If you are not a walker a Venetian style vaporetto and various hotel cars/minibuses transfer you into town.
This quiet, sophisticated hotel is not suitable for families traveling with children. Perfect for a luxury break
