The Inn Above Tide

The Inn Above Tide is tucked away in bayfront oasis a few steps Sausalito’s shopping and restaurants, just thirty minutes by ferry from San Francisco. The twenty nine rooms have expansive, unimpeded, views across the Bay to Angel Island, Alcatraz and the City’s famous skyline. All except five have their own secluded waterfront terraces with floor to ceiling glass doors and windows which enhance the sensation of being right on the water. Binoculars are provided to bring you even closer to the ever changing array of waterbirds, boaters and marine activity dotting the bay. The suites are spectacular. Our favorite is the Penthouse Suite with its glass enclosed whirlpool tub and magnificent views of the city, pure decadence. Most of the rooms have gas or wood burning fireplaces, all are furnished in a comfortable contemporary style, decorated in beiges and earth tones, accentuated with vivid touches of burnt orange. Model yachts and porthole windows in the large, nicely appointed tile, marble and chrome bathrooms provide a nautical undertone. Soft robes, fine linens and fluffy towels abound. The buffet in the drawing room is set in the evenings with a selection of wine and cheese, in the mornings with a continental breakfast (trays or room service are available).
