Karen's Review Of This Property:

Grey Gables Inn is a pretty, soft-gray-blue house detailed with white trim sitting appealingly behind an English boxwood hedge within easy walking distance of the wonderful array of shops and restaurants in Sutter Creek. A red-brick pathway winds to the front entrance and weaves its way through a lovely back garden with fountains, vine-covered arbors, and a patchwork of flowers. Inside, the inn’s ambiance reflects the owners’ heritage—the Garlicks hail originally from the Cotswolds, and they have brought a touch of the English countryside to the Mother Lode. All of the guestrooms are named for an English poet. Browning, Byron, Wordsworth, and Shelley are located on the main floor, just off the entry, while Keats, Brontë, and Tennyson are found on the lower garden level. Garden-level rooms have fewer windows. Secluded away on the top floor is the Rossetti Room. All the rooms are decorated with floral spreads in hues of greens, rose, and mauve. All rooms have fireplaces, wireless internet access, most have garden views, and some enjoy claw-foot tubs. Guests settle in the formal dining room and parlor to enjoy an informal afternoon tea with cake, wine and hors d’oeuvres in the evening, and a bountiful breakfast.
