We have been informed that the Hotel Pension Zur Linde is closed and will not be accepting guests for 2009.

The Hotel Pension Zur Linde is a small, homey hotel where guests are charmed by Herr and Frau Patscheider’s genuine hospitality. Their picturesque, gable-roofed, balconied house is located on a sunny corner in the small ski town of Hungerburg. The Zur Linde is across the street from the gondola, which operates year-round to accommodate hikers and sightseers. The house is filled with family treasures—lovely old oil paintings and hanging wood sculptures depicting the ancient legends of this mountainous region. Frau Patscheider is happy to relate these fascinating stories to guests in her excellent English and Herr Patscheider will proudly show his magnificent collection of rare old prints and documents relating to Austria’s historic hero, Andreas Hofer. The four guest bedrooms and two suites are pleasant, containing antique or pine furniture and homey touches such as goodnight chocolate on the pillow. The prize room is number 3, a corner suite with pine paneling, an oriental carpet, and best of all, a cozy sitting niche in a bay window. All rooms have balconies and sink areas, but when making your reservation, remember that only half have a private bathroom. However, if you are on a budget, the rooms without a private bathroom are a good value. In recent years, a nursery school has been operating in the front part of the house, but guests are still given the same warmth of welcome.
