Karen's Review Of This Property:

The Gasthof Weisses Kreuz is ideally located in the historic pedestrian center of Innsbruck, just a few steps from the Goldenes Dachl, the town’s most famous landmark. The Weisses Kreuz has been a guesthouse since the 15th century when it offered basic rooms to traveling merchants and farmers coming to market. Over the years, the inn has hosted many distinguished guests, including in 1769 the young Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. At the core of the hotel is a courtyard, which is now an atrium with a glass roof. Like many of the hotels in Innsbruck, the Weisses Kreuz is not at street level. A flight of steps takes you up to the reception desk and several exceptionally charming breakfast rooms. The coziest of these is a real dazzler, with beamed ceilings, richly paneled walls, antique plates, soft lighting, and cute Tyrolean-style wooden chairs. No two of the bedrooms are the same size because the building is so old that the rooms are tucked along a maze of corridors. Some guestrooms have carved wooden furniture while others have built-in headboards. Room 403 is the largest room and looks out to the activity of the pedestrian street through the front bay window. The Gasthof Weisses Kreuz does not pretend to be a deluxe hotel, but for a family-owned inn with charm, great warmth of welcome, very good accommodations, and a moderate price, it is outstanding.
