Singer Sporthotel & SPA

Berwang is a small village of chalet-style houses dotting a lovely high mountain meadow. The Sporthotel Singer was built in 1928 by the Singer family who still owns and manages the property. Over the years the hotel has expanded from a simple place to stay into a sophisticated, elegant Relais & Châteaux hotel, perfect for those who want to be in the mountains but do not want to “rough it.” Although the overall ambiance has an Alpine flavor, there is nothing remotely rustic in the amenities. From the spacious reception area, an ornate staircase of intricately designed wrought iron and brass sweeps up to a galleried second level where you find a lounge and bar. A huge, ornate chandelier drops dramatically down in the open space between the floors. Throughout there are open fireplaces, accents of antique furniture, brocade-covered chairs and sofas, pretty paintings, abundant wood paneling, and carved, beamed ceilings. As you might expect, all of the bedrooms maintain high standards of quality. Half of the accommodations are suites, which are extremely popular with guests who come to spend a long holiday in the mountains. The hotel has an exquisite spa offering every amenity and service imaginable.
