Hotel Wolf

The Hotel Wolf affords travelers incredible value in the heart of old Salzburg. It unpretentiously offers clean, comfortable, attractive rooms coupled with attentive management under the direction of the family owners. The hotel is conveniently located just off the Mozartplatz. This is a pedestrian zone, but you can drive your car in to drop off your luggage and from there the hotel will direct you to one of Salzburg’s many parking garages. Glass front doors lead into a hallway and beyond to the reception desk. Often attended by the owner herself, this five-hundred-year-old house has been in Frau Rottensteiner’s family since 1900 when her grandmother first operated the hotel. Just off the entry is a breakfast room with an arched ceiling and pine tables on Oriental carpets complemented by white walls. At one end is an attractive small sitting area with a handsome armoire and antique chest. The guestrooms have updated bathrooms and are all located on the upper floors. Each vary in décor, yet share a similar ambiance with fresh white walls, colorful rag rugs on wooden floors, and often a painted armoire. A favorite is 38, a spacious room with blue-print draperies repeated in the same fabric on the headboard, painted armoire, light-pine tables and chairs and desk. Another is cozy number 30, decorated in soft pink with views overlooking the front pedestrian street. With its great location and reasonable pricing, Hotel Wolf makes a wonderful base in Salzburg.
