The Gersberg Alm is not in downtown Salzburg, but splendidly situated on the Gaisberg mountain overlooking the city. This tranquil location is a good choice for those who prefer the countryside. Although the hotel was originally an old farmhouse, what you see today is mostly new construction. The hotel is built to harmonize with the past and its style has the typical Tyrolean feel. The ground level is white stucco with shuttered windows, while the next two stories are wood and have balconies draped with geraniums. In front of the hotel, a green lawn, dotted with mature shade trees, provides a romantic view of Salzburg. Nestled next to the hotel is an enticing garden terrace where meals are served in warm weather. The interior of the hotel exudes a rustic charm and throughout the public rooms lovely furnishings with a country look create a motif of rustic elegance. The lobby has a welcoming ambiance with light-wood paneling on the walls and ceiling and Tyrolean-style floral paintings on the front desk. Just off the lobby are a cozy bar, lounge and absolutely beautiful restaurant. Recently renovated, the guestrooms are spacious and nicely furnished in both modern and traditional styles. I especially liked room 111, as well as 126 with the benefit of a private balcony. Here your stay will be enhanced by the attentive and very accommodating staff.
