A Karen Brown Recommended Hotel / Inn

Karen's Review Of This Property:
The Hotel Seehof (with origins back to the 15th century) has been in the Schellhorn family for seven generations. Loving care shows in every detail. Heirlooms are artistically arranged in glass display cases, one with great-grandmother's dirndl with hat and scarf, another with great-grandfather's Sunday outfit with leather britches, fancy hat, and marvelous old pipe. What makes a stay at the historical Seehof exceptional is the warmth of welcome of your charming hosts, Susi and Sepp Schellhorn and their wonderfully trained staff. Sepp is also the master chef and has won many awards for his fantastic culinary skills. Guests on the half-pension plan are treated to a five-course dinner. Behind the hotel, under two giant chestnut trees, tables and chairs invitingly dot the lawn, which stretches down to a small lake where guests may swim. The bedrooms are all extremely pleasant with stark white walls accentuated by watercolor prints. Most of the bedrooms have modern furniture. If you prefer antiques, room 29 has handpainted chests and beds. If you want a view, ask for a room with a balcony offering an idyllic vista of the tiny lake backdropped by mountains. If you are traveling with children, ask for the whimsical room decorated for little ones.
