The romantic Hotel Post, once the town palais residence of the Count of Khevenhüller, has entertained numerous prominent guests in its 500 year history, including emperors and kings. Emperor Karl V stayed here, as did King Henry III of France. Villach is surrounded by warm bathing lakes with clear waters and is an ideal departure point for day trips in the Julian Alps, the border region of Italy, Slovenia and Austria or even Venice.
