A week of cooking and enjoyment at the foot of the Etna
Eleonora Consoli lives for the „ Kitchen of Sicily“ .She is an internationally reknowned gastronomy journalist. Her standard work „Cucina del Sole“ (Kitchen of the Sun) is a classic amongst cooking literature.
She has also got an award for her legendary cooking show „ Perle di Sicilia“ (Pearls of Sicily).Cooking lessons will be taught in the cozy kitchen of her typical country house in Viagrande. (10 min. from thePalmento). Eleonora Consoli speaks Italian, French and English.
The sensual experience of cooking begins with buying the freshest ingredients. The daily fishmarket in Catania is an extraordinary spectacle. The proud fishmongers are born with an actors talent. The stage’s decoration is formed by the various shapes and colours of fish and seafood glistening in the morning’s sunlight.
Life in the vineyards around the Aetna is much calmer. The cultivators have achieved their extraordinary results by hard labour. In addition to the beautiful countryside view you can find wines full of character that are not yet obtainable in the next supermarket.
And when you are coming back from your excoursions, tempting flavours are welcoming you from the Palmento Kitchen…
