Montreux is a sophisticated city at the eastern end of Lake Geneva. Its setting is superb and its view across the lake to snowcapped mountains memorable. There are many grand hotels in town plus a casino. One of Montreux’s sightseeing highlights is a visit to the
Castle of Chillon, which is tucked on a tiny island just 3 kilometers south of town. This romantic castle (attached to the mainland by a bridge) is open as a museum and certainly
should be on your list of places to see.
