Scuol is an old spa town that rises from the banks of the rushing Inn River. A covered bridge at the foot of the village crosses the river. Due to its thermal waters, Scuol grew in popularity in the late 19th century as a spa. Some of the buildings in town are modern, but, happily, at its core Scuol remains a charming medieval village with colorfully painted houses, cobbled squares, many flowers, statues, fountains, and a picturesque white church topped by a tall steeple.
