Murten is a picture-perfect walled village that snuggles next to Lake Murten. As you
enter through the gate, you step back into medieval times. Colorful 15th-century
buildings, small squares, cobbled streets, clock towers, and ramparts add to its fairy tale charm. Boat rides around the lake are available from the dock at the foot of town.
