Schaffhausen is a colorful, medieval town that gained importance due to its strategic location on the Rhine River, just a few kilometers above the mighty Rheinfall (Europe’s largest waterfall). A dramatic castle looms on the hill above the town, adding to its charm. From the dock in the center of town, you can board a boat to take you to the charming town of Stein am Rhein.
