Although you might never have heard of Flüeli-Ranft, the tiny village is very well known to devout Catholics, many of whom come on pilgrimage to pay homage to Saint Nicholas of Flüe, who was born here and spent many years in a hermitage nearby. Even if you are not drawn to Flüeli-Ranft for its religious significance, the town is well worth a visit for its stunning scenery. If you want to spend the night,the large, Victorian-style, Hotel Paxmontana captures magnificent views in every direction.
