Review Of This City:
The town of Zafferana Etnea lies on the slopes of Mt. Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe.  The square and the main church in the old town are lovely and come alive during summer. Zafferana Etnea is an authentic place where you meet the real culture of Sicily. This wonderful town is a perfect place to start your excursions around the mountain and down to the Ionic coast which is only 5 miles away.
