Review Of This City:
Modica, together with Ragusa Ibla, Scicli and Noto, is part of the Unesco patrimony since 2002; All of these cities were rebuilt after the terrible earthquake of 1693 in the style of the time.
Worth a visit are the Churches of St George, St. Peter’s, St. John’s as well as the Madonna delle Grazie, Santa Maria di Betlem, the Clock tower of the medieval Castle and the Museum of the Peasant. Modica is also well known for its chocolate and many fine chocolate shops.
